Personal Development Skills – Units 3 & 4
In Units 3 and 4, Personal Development Skills, you will:
- Build leadership and teamwork skills while making a real difference in your community.
- Learn how to research, plan, implement, and evaluate community projects that tackle issues you care about.
Unit 3: Leadership and Teamwork
In this unit, you will:
- Learn what makes an effective leader.
- Build teamwork skills and contribute to shared goals.
- Take part in a community project where you lead and collaborate.
- Reflect on your role and how your team worked together.
Unit 4: Community Projects
In this unit, you will:
- Research real-world issues – social, environmental, or personal.
- Plan and implement community projects that raise awareness or create positive change.
- Evaluate the impact of your community projects in addressing the areas of concern.
By the end of these units, you will have experience in:
- Leading and working in teams,
- Acting on issues
- Reflecting on the impact of your projects
These skills will support your success in school, work, and life.
Who is it for?
Personal Development Skills is for students who:
- Enjoy applying their knowledge and skills in practical settings such as workplaces, community-based activities, and through project work.
- Are aiming to move into an apprenticeship, traineeship, employment, further training, or university via an alternative entrance program.
- Are undertaking a VET course.
