Over 1000 Year 7-10 Virtual School Victoria (VSV) students, parents, carers and teachers recently had the opportunity to come together at the Middle Years Connect Week.
The fun-filled and informative schedule included a range of in-person and online events.
One of the week’s highlights was an excursion to Puffing Billy Railway. This was a terrific opportunity for the 120 students, parents, carers and teachers to connect with one another.
Carly McDermott, Middle Years Student Engagement Leader, said Puffing Billy was a wonderful experience.
‘My favourite part of the day was witnessing students connecting and forming friendships with their peers. I think days like this also promote greater connectedness for students with their school, VSV,’ she said.
Other events included a Bendigo meet and greet at the Great Victorian Goldfields Railway, year level assemblies, barista training, a Student Voice summit and a parent consultation summit.
A trip to the State Library of NSW to learn about Gallipoli was also possible thanks to an engaging and interactive virtual tour.
Virtual School Victoria is proud to be a pioneer in blended learning – a mix of virtual and face-to-face teaching and learning. We provide students with a range of engaging online, onsite and offsite experiences where students can connect and collaborate both virtually and in-person.
