Virtual School Victoria’s new brand is in the running for the Victorian Premier’s Design Awards which highlight and celebrate local design capability.

The design studio behind the rebrand from Distance Education Centre of Victoria to Virtual School Victoria is 3sidedsquare.

Lachlan Young, the Creative Director at 3sidedsquare said he was excited by the breadth of the brief and the opportunity to create a brand that staff, students and members of the VSV community could be proud of.

‘The rebrand supported the school adopting a more contemporary name and image. The design we came up with is modern, bold and welcoming. While it is professional – there is also a playful element to it. The shapes represent the school’s diverse community and are an abstract metaphor for the building blocks of learning,’ he explained.

‘The V is a strong element in the logo – it’s something that sticks with people as it’s such a powerful visual element.’

3sidedsquare designed and produced a diverse range of marketing materials for Virtual School Victoria, ranging from business cards through to outdoor signage.

Their work is in the running for the Communications Design award. The winner will be announced in early 2022.
