
Year 9-10 Design Technology (Food)
Overview
Students will learn about the nutrition principles of food and how to make appropriate food choices. They will use the recommendations from The Australian Dietary Guidelines, and other food models such as the Australian Guide to Healthy Eating and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Guide to Healthy Eating, when making food choices. They will demonstrate an understanding of the design process and provide designed solutions to a range of design briefs.
Other topics include food systems, contemporary food environmental issues, including ethical and sustainable foods.

Requirements
You will need to have access to a kitchen and a camera / phone to take photographs or a video of the practical work.
You will also need to cover the cost of the food.
