Year 8 Economics and Business
Overview
Year 8 Economics and Business explores the way individuals, families, the community, businesses and governments make decisions in the markets that make up the Australian economy.
We explore the business world through current case studies and students own experiences.
What do you do?
You will build a range of entrepreneurial skills and attributes. You will investigate your local economy, explore entrepreneurial success stories and explore the business world by studying real business examples and drawing on students own experiences.
What skills do you develop?
To prepare you for the future, you will develop a range of enterprise skills and aptitudes. These skills include:
- decision making
- problem solving
- leadership
- communication and organisation
- ability to work cooperatively
- managing resources and people.
You will also gain skills in consumer and financial literacy.
Requirements
Internet is needed to access this course. Work will be completed and submitted online weekly.

I love working with a range of students who each have a unique story. I’m constantly inspired by my students who have different challenges, yet are willing to move forward and overcome them. I am passionate about the importance of good decision making and hope I can be significant in my students’ learning journey.
