Executive Principal’s Message

Welcome to our latest edition of VSV Life. Across the school, there’s been a wonderful sense of energy, connection and celebration as students, teachers and families have thrown themselves into all that Term 4 has to offer.

Our senior students continue to approach their VCE exams with focus and determination. Behind the scenes, considerable care has gone into setting up spaces that help students feel calm, supported and set for success. Many VSV students pursue diverse pathways after completing their VCE. Don’t miss Alyssa’s inspiring story as she begins her electrician apprenticeship—a great example of where curiosity and determination can lead.

Elsewhere, the learning and creativity have been flowing, from VHAP Masterclasses that stretched thinking, to big events like the Media Showcase, Primary Connect Day, and Middle Years Connect Week. The Neurodiversity Club has been buzzing too, and with our Awards Ceremony, Making Waves and the Graduation Dinner just around the corner, there’s plenty more to look forward to.

Looking ahead, planning for 2026 is already well underway. Congratulations to Mal McIver on his new part-time acting Executive Principal role and thank you to everyone contributing ideas to help us shape another great year of learning.

As we move into the final weeks of the year, it is important to pause and acknowledge what it has taken to reach this point. Each student has invested considerable effort over many months, and that progress deserves recognition. There is still a little way to go, yet the finish line is in sight. We encourage everyone to take steady steps, look after themselves and each other, and keep drawing on the strengths that have carried them through the year. And in readiness for the summer break, we share initiatives that nurture wellbeing on the less structured days of the holiday period, when familiar routines shift and new rhythms take shape.

It’s been a big term, full of moments that remind us just how special the VSV community is. Keep an eye out in December for our final special edition of VSV Life, ‘Celebrating Success,’ as we look back on the year it has been.

Warm regards,

Fiona Webster

Executive Principal
