Degradation
by Nathan Spits
Flocks of birds flew the sky
In what is now a dead man’s cry
They say pain is the pinnacle of hope
But they did not see our demise rot us down
The morals of humans
Moulded through centuries of prosperity
Rotted to now a tragedy burning away
Outsourced what was claimed ‘God’s gift’
Down to the insecurities of religion and faith
Too much to argue
Negativity can only speak
For too long was humanity at its peak
A weak way for a death is too bleak
Similar to Peter Pan
Distinctions of dystopia and functionality
Are forgotten throughout time
Sorrows around this world
Philosophies of new priorities
Changes people like disease
Feeling like indescribable pain
That can’t be seen
