National Science Week (15-23 August) provides an opportunity to celebrate the many ways our students engage with science through curiosity, investigation and real-world experiences.
At Virtual School Victoria, practical learning is an important part of the student experience. Whether it’s a primary student exploring scientific concepts through a hands-on incursion, a middle year’s learner earning their Bunsen Burner licence, or VCE students connecting with industry through subject camps, these opportunities help bring learning to life. This edition of our eNews highlights some of the people and programs that make these experiences possible.
This edition also features the inspiring story of one of our recent Victorian Premier VCE Awardees, Steph Woods, whose journey from Year 8 through to VCE at VSV reflects the power of perseverance, personalised learning and a determination to pursue her dreams. Her story is a reminder that when students are supported with the right environment, opportunities and technologies, they are empowered to realise their potential.
As we look ahead to Bullying No Way Week (17-23 August), we’re reminded that creating a safe, inclusive and respectful learning environment is something we work towards every day. In this eNews edition, we are inviting students to answer a quick survey about what safe online spaces look and feel like for them.
