As we reach the end of the school year, it feels fitting to pause and reflect on what success truly looks like at VSV. This special edition of our eNews highlights a small selection of student stories, each one a reminder that success does not follow a single pathway. It can look like the courage to return to a campus school after building confidence in an online setting; the determination to walk 35 kilometres for charity; the discipline required to balance elite-level sport with academic study; or the curiosity that shines during an immersive work-experience placement. These stories illustrate the diverse ways our students learn, grow and find their place in the world.
For our senior students completing the VCE, success has also meant navigating the demands of academic rigour with resilience and maturity. We are proud to share that this year’s cohort achieved strong results across the board, with notable achievements in subject excellence, improvements in study scores, and a steady uplift in completion rates.
- Number of students who successfully completed their VCE in 2025: 445 students (2024: 293)
- Number of students who received an ATAR: 230 (2024: 196)
- Highest ATAR: 98.1 (2024: 99.95)
These outcomes speak to the dedication of our students and teachers working in partnership. And while academic performance is something to celebrate, we remain mindful that a score is only one part of a much larger story; it is not a measure of character, potential or the future pathways our students will go on to pursue.
Across the school, we have continued to see inspiring examples of students stepping forward with initiative, creativity and purpose. Whether they are reconnecting with peers in preparation for returning to a mainstream setting, representing Australia in their sporting discipline, or contributing to their community in meaningful ways, their growth reflects the strength of our learning model and the supportive relationships that underpin it.
As educators, moments like these reaffirm why we do what we do. It is a privilege to lead a school where success is recognised in all its forms, not only the visible milestones, but also the quieter, deeply personal gains that often matter most. The professionalism, empathy and unwavering commitment shown by our staff play an essential role in helping every learner move a little closer to where they hope to be.
To our families, carers, and supporters, thank you. Behind every student is someone cheering them on, reminding them to log-in, listening, encouraging, and believing. Your role in your child’s success cannot be overstated, and we are grateful for the partnership we share with you. For those students returning to VSV next year, I’m excited to see what you’ll discover, create, and become. And for those heading into new chapters, take the confidence and resilience you’ve built here and carry it proudly into whatever comes next.
Warm regards,
Fiona Webster
Executive Principal
