At our school we celebrate every student’s strengths, interests and aspirations. Success looks different for everyone, and sometimes the best learning happens outside the classroom. One example is our relationship with Wild Action ZooHQ in Macedon, which allows us to offer experiences that help students explore their passions and thrive.
Zoo Crew is a unique, hands-on wildlife program designed for students who receive NDIS funding (self-managed or plan-managed). Participants work alongside animal care professionals at ZooHQ, home to more than 2,000 native species — many rare and endangered — learning practical skills in wildlife care and gaining insight into careers in the animal industry.
We’re proud to share news of this program with our whole school community as an example of how we support diverse pathways. Programs like Zoo Crew create rich, real-world experiences that complement classroom learning, nurture confidence and independence, and honour each student’s interests.
Places are limited to ensure individualised support, and students must arrange their own transport to and from ZooHQ. Families of eligible students are invited to express interest by emailing Carly McDermott on [email protected] to learn more and take the next step.
