Olympian Suzy Balogh was a keynote speaker at the recent Middle Years Connect Week opening ceremony. Over 320 students were inspired as Suzy, an Olympic gold medalist, shared her incredible journey of perseverance and achievement.
Suzy captivated the students with her story, revealing the challenges she faced, including a severe injury just before the 2004 Athens Olympics. Despite these setbacks, she never gave up on her dreams. She highlighted that life is full of surprises, and dedication is key to achieving your goals even in the face of illness and adversity.
Suzy’s key messages at the online event included:

The Olympian also showed her gold medal, shared childhood photos, and played a video of her Olympic victory. She encouraged students to set their own goals, emphasising that goal setting was crucial to her success.
