Introducing our Student Representative Council (SRC)
We are pleased to introduce the student leaders who will represent their peers on the VSV Student Representative Council (SRC) this year. Selected by their fellow students, these representatives bring a diverse range of perspectives, experiences and ideas, united by a shared commitment to strengthening our school community.
The SRC plays an important role in ensuring student voice is heard and valued across the school. Through collaboration, advocacy and leadership, members help shape initiatives, contribute to decision-making and foster a culture of inclusion, connection and belonging. We congratulate our representatives on their appointment and look forward to the positive contribution they will make in supporting and representing students throughout the year.
Michael T | President
“Hi all! I’m Michael, and I am a Year 12 student in my third year at VSV. My goal is to help lead the SRC to create and implement effective ideas to help benefit the students and staff in the best way possible.
I am always up to talk with people who need it, and wholeheartedly believe that everyone should be heard, as any voice can be the right one. I’m hoping to help establish more in person event days for students to be able to connect and develop relationships with other individuals.”
Sammy M | Vice-President
“Hi, my name is Sammy and this is my second year at VSV. I am a Year 12student who hopes to study law or film in university. This year I hope to continue helping to make school and safe and welcoming environment that all students enjoy and want to participate in.
As someone who has struggled with school VSV is an amazing option for those who can’t go to face-to-face school for any reason, I want to help build the school environment online, and on campus this year before I graduate at the end of the year!”

“Hello! My name is John and I’m a new student here at VSV. I love history, music, reading, and video games. I love to make people feel included and I want to make sure students are more involved in decisions within the school.”
Charlie W | Senior Years Representatives
“Hi everyone! My name is Charlie, I am in Year 11, and this year is my third year in the SRC, and I was lucky enough to get the role of Senior Representative. Over the last year or so I have learnt so much and gained many skills. From VSV and the SRC I have learnt a lot about the people surrounding me in VSV I have learnt more social skills and public speaking, and that has helped me grow massively in confidence, from being the Student Speaker at the International Women’s Day last year at VSV as well as attending the SRC student youth leadership conference.
As the Senior Rep I want to make sure the final two or one years of schooling for students here at VSV are the best possible and allow students to make many fun memories of their final years of schooling, as well as taking on any student’s feedback about the school’s operations, such as online lessons, and the Connect Days.”
Lina S | Middle Years Representative
“Hi Everyone! My name is Lina, I am in Year9, and this is my third year at VSV. I am someone who really enjoys getting involved and working with others. I love meeting new people, listening to different perspectives, and sharing my ideas to help improve things.
Outside of school, I enjoy playing soccer, getting creative and being outdoors. In the SRC for 2026, I hope to represent students’ ideas, make a positive impact on the school community, and help make students feel included and welcomed.”
Showing the leadership qualities that saw her elected by her peers, Lina entered a local ‘News in my Neighbourhood competition, achieving the runner up. Her article concerned the high increase in house prices where she lives. and how home ownership is no longer a viable option for many people. Coen P | Middle Year Representative
“Hello! I’m Coen and I’m in Year 8. I love birdwatching, playing the drums and reading. This is my first year at VSV, and this year I am the joint Middle Years Representative! This means it’s my job to make sure Years 7-10 are represented at the SRC.
This year in the SRC, I’m looking forward to making sure everyone’s voice is heard and respected. I want student feedback to lead to actual positive changes at VSV.I want to ensure that VSV is welcoming, accessible and inclusive for everybody.”
Neo V.D.P | Primary Years Representative
“I’m Neo, and I’m the VSV Primary Years Representative for 2026. Over the past year, I’ve learned how small actions can make a big difference. Speaking at Abilities Day in 2025 taught me that everyone grows in their own way and that asking for help is a brave choice.
My time on the SRC has helped me listen, include others, and notice when someone needs support. I’m someone who listens, cares, and brings positive energy. And I want to use these skills to strengthen Student Voice, help organise activities, and make sure every student feels welcome and heard.”
NAIDOC Week 2026 – Celebrating 50 Years of Deadly
As we wrap up Term 2 this week and head into the mid-year break, we also celebrate NAIDOC Week (5 – 12 July).
This is a beautiful time to honour the rich history, deep culture, incredible strength, and outstanding achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples — the oldest continuous living cultures on Earth.
This year’s theme, “50 Years of Deadly”, celebrates five decades of resilience, leadership, and powerful advocacy by First Nations communities. It pays tribute to the Elders who stood strong, the artists who turned resistance into powerful expression, and the many communities who have continued to show up and create change, year after year.
We hope you take some time during the break to connect with something that speaks to you — whether it’s through stories, music, art, family, Country, or simply quiet reflection.
Wishing you all a safe, restful, and joyful break, and a truly meaningful NAIDOC Week filled with pride and connection.
