2025: In Your Own Words

shape-type-3

Every school year is shaped by countless individual journeys. Here, students and parents share their perspectives on the year that was, a snapshot of personal experiences, proud moments and the progress made along the way.

Dear Teacher,

Thank you for a fantastic year in Foundation Maths. I truly appreciate your commitment to making sure everyone understood the different materials.

Before taking your class, I often found maths challenging, but your way of explaining different topics and concepts with clear step-by-step examples or real-world situations really clicked for me. Because of your help, I now feel much more confident in my mathematical abilities.

Thank you again for your patience, encouragement, and dedication. It made a huge difference in my learning this year.

Dear Teacher,

You’ve always been so helpful and supportive of (our daughter), and it has been very appreciated. Your clear and interesting content and activities, along with your regular feedback and encouragement, really helped her to engage and complete lots of her work. Our daughter will be going back to her mainstream school soon, but we’ve had a good experience with VSV, thanks to kind and motivating teachers such as yourself.

Vicki

Dear Teacher,

Thank you for your support since joining VSV, and thank you to all the other lovely teachers at VSV. The nature and flexibility of the school, the encouragement by the teachers and just the general feeling of being supported is a breath of fresh air and a life-saver for children who struggle like my child.

Marina

Dear Staff,

My daughter experiences several chronic health conditions, one of which affects her heart’s function making it difficult for her to engage in physical activity.  Previously, she’s avoided subjects like Health and PE because achievement in this field seemed beyond her capacity.

However, my daughter notes with enthusiasm that (her teacher) makes the subject not only accessible, but fun and feels like a collaborative activity.  She reports that (he) treats the class like a team, and the students support one another to learn together. My daughter describes (the teacher’s) shout outs and encouragements as motivating and rewarding. Sounds like a good coach to me!
