During Connect Week in Term 3, 40 Year 7-9 students and 9 VSV staff attended a 2-night, 3-day engagement camp at Golden Valleys Adventure Camp in Flinders. Activities included a giant swing, flying fox, low ropes course, Lego building challenge, STEM egg challenge, night walk, campfire and s’mores, a sing-along, vertical challenge, volleyball, hut building and more!
When met with wild, windy, wet weather on the Tuesday afternoon, the students showed impressive resilience, with many choosing to complete their adventure activities in the rain, and even returned smiling.
Students built wonderful social connections at camp, with many already looking forward to the next chance to meet their new friends in person. We ended the camp with a gratitude circle where students expressed gratitude for someone who they had felt was particularly kind, positive, helpful or inspiring during their camp experience.
Well done to all our campers—it was wonderful to have you there. Thank you to the staff who made this trip possible – we look forward to the next one.
