Year 11 VSV student, Amelie, had an exceptional year as a Melbourne Theatre Company Youth Ambassador. Describing the experience as “once in a lifetime,” Amelie has gained insights into professional theatre, developed invaluable skills, and built connections with industry professionals and like-minded peers.
This prestigious program, offered to a select few across the state, has allowed Amelie to attend Melbourne Theatre Company productions, engage with staff and artists, and explore diverse career opportunities in theatre. As a Youth Ambassador, Amelie has also advocated for Melbourne Theatre Company within VSV and her broader community.
“The program has been life-changing,” Amelie shared.
“It’s deepened my passion for theatre and opened new doors, from acting to playwriting, directing, and design. Meeting artists and discussing their roles has inspired me to dream big and focus my goals for the future.”
Amelie credits VSV and her teachers for supporting her journey, alongside Melbourne Theatre Company’s incredible resources, which enrich students studying theatre for VCE.
“I would encourage other VSV students to explore this opportunity,” enthused Amelie.
“This experience has shaped my aspirations and skills while connecting me with a community of passionate peers. I’m so grateful to Melbourne Theatre Company and VSV for making it possible.”
VSV is proud of its long-standing partnership with Melbourne Theatre Company to provide Drama students with unique learning opportunities.
